Turning waste into a resource, Lipofit is the recovered oil and fat fraction from grease trap waste generated by restaurants and food manufactories in Hong Kong. The technology was developed in France and is now applied in the new Grease Trap Waste Treatment Facility housed within the West Kowloon Transfer Station. Amongst its various usages, Lipofit in Hong Kong can be used as a potential material or additive to energetic resources.
At a glance, the new Grease Trap Waste Treatment Facility:
Has a designed treatment capacity of 400 tonnes per day
Produces approximately 15 tonnes of Lipofitper day
Lipofit is suitable for use as a potential material or additive to energetic resources by manufacturers of bio diesel, entities with industrial furnaces, large industrial boilers and small boilers. Interested potential users will be invited to tender for its usage in the second half of 2008.
